No experience is necessary to apply for a USW skilled trades apprenticeship. None. The Apprentice will work alongside a mentor who will give instruction and guidance. Coupled with the independent coursework requirement, apprentices learn everything necessary to become a Journeyperson in a Skilled Trade.
With our skilled trades apprenticeship program, your pay varies depending on several factors such as the trade you choose and where you are in the program.

The apprentice becomes an employee of the company in which they are placed, and a union member, from the first day on the job
