Jobs in the skilled trades offer high salaries. Apprentices typically start at 50% of journey worker rate and advance 10% every 1000 working hours. The normal amount of hours little over 2000 hours per year. Programs are two, three and four years in length. Journey worker rate could be 80+ dollars per hour.
